Decades at the Intersection of Gender & Mental Health
As far back as his graduate student days, Dr. William Neely PhD has been drawn to the psychology of gender. Over decades of clinical work with hundreds of patients, one pattern emerged with striking consistency: the demands of patriarchy, as a global societal structure, systematically undermine the mental health of both women and men.
Alongside clinical observation, Dr. Neely spent years studying the psychology literature on gender, and extensively researched human history and anthropology to understand the conditions and circumstances that led to the subjugation of women.
His conclusion: the professional field of psychology has done too little to remedy this enduring imbalance — and at worst has produced ideas that deepen it.
Why This Moment Demands a New Framework
Dr. William Neely PhD has developed a Theory of Gender grounded in well-established psychological principles and research. It addresses one of the most pressing cultural crises of our time: the enormous backlash against feminism sweeping the West.
The rise of the Manosphere, algorithmically amplified rhetoric targeting insecure young men, and the catastrophic spread of violent pornography are fueling a regression that threatens hard-won advances for women globally.
His broader thesis: we are entering what he calls The Era of Applied Scientific Knowledge. In this tech-dominated world, the principles of patriarchy will destroy life as we know it. Beyond the West’s fragile bubble of equality, the oppression of women is spreading — most extremely in Afghanistan, where females are denied basic human rights.
